1. Written Assignment 2: choose a topic and write 1,500 – 2,000 words. Make sure you include some references to books that you have read.
2. Project 1: prepare approx 3 short film clips to show student progress in one aspect of your teaching. If you can, join the clips together to make one film clip
3. Diary: keep a diary to track your reaction to what you are working on, and write down the response you are getting from some of your students to your new approaches in lessons.
4. Reading: start with The Music Teacher’s Companion. If you have time, read the books on the booklist that are shown in bold.
5. Quick Study: play something new every day.
6. Listening: try and listen to one new piece of music every day.
7. Use the Moodle site to exchange news and views with your fellow students. I’ll be putting an edited version of the powerpoint presentations I used on the site soon.
8. Keep in touch with your mentor.
